Shaimaa Tawakol

Shaimaa Tawakol is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist with 0ver 10 years experience. She was graduated from Shaimaa graduated from Ain shams university, faculty of art, psychology department in 2002, and she had NGOs diploma degree, faculty of economics and political sciences, Cairo university, 2010, Grade is very Good

Shaimaa is specialized in trauma survivors (as in sexual abuse survivors, tortured survivors, human trafficking survivors and LGBTQ) and adult mental health disorders (depression, anxiety, OCD, personality disorders), and couple therapy.

She completed her basic training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) in 2018 from a certified UK trainer (Matthew Wesson) and she is managing clients with trauma like PTSD. She is also received several trainings related to trauma therapy like ‘Dream Completion’ workshop, by Dr. Jastin Heavens, Narrative Exposure Therapy, and Stress management.

Shaimaa is trained in both individual and group therapy skills by CBT courses by the Egyptian Psychologists Association and Here and now training (four steps)

Shaimaa is the mental health supervisor in renounced international NGOs based in Cairo providing mental health support to trauma survivors and she mentors younger colleagues. She worked for 8 years with women empowering, education and behavioral programs, women rights in national and international organizations like Egyptian association for comprehensive development, GIZ, World Bank, Education Reform program.
