I am a Clinical Psychologist at Al Abbassia Mental Health and Addiction Hospital, with extensive expertise in clinical assessment, case formulation, and evidence-based psychological interventions across a wide range of mental health disorders. I have specialized field experience working with refugees, survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), and populations affected by crises, disasters, and displacement, using culturally adapted, trauma-informed approaches. I also contribute to supporting oncology patients, providing integrated, multidisciplinary psychosocial care aimed at improving psychological adjustment and quality of life.
I have completed advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression, social anxiety, PTSD, and OCD, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), strengthening skills in psychological flexibility, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), accredited by EID UK/Europe, with advanced training in early intervention, ongoing traumatic stress, panic disorder, and avoidance behaviors.
Additional professional qualifications include Psychological First Aid (PFA), professional ethics in psychotherapy, couple and family therapy using systemic approaches, and knowledge of mental health law, including patients’ rights and informed consent.
I have been awarded the Global Art in Medicine Fellowship (2022), integrating expressive and creative approaches into therapy, and completed the DAAD “Design Your Effective Training Course” program, enhancing my expertise in training design, facilitation, and evaluation. I have also participated in international programs such as Colombo Plan (DAP) and WISE, focusing on gender-sensitive interventions for substance use disorders, and I am a graduate of the Women Lead in the Egyptian Governorates program – NTA, reflecting strong leadership and community impact.
Additionally, I worked as an MHPSS Consultant within the Safe Spaces Project – UNFPA, where I contributed to designing, implementing, and evaluating psychological interventions that are gender-responsive and trauma-informed, targeting the most vulnerable populations.
