Caring of mother and her baby during pregnancy:

A woman’s mental health is an important component of the baby’s environment, even before coming to the world. Pregnancy itself brings a mix of feelings, and not all of them are good. If you are feeling worried or low, please know that you are not alone. Mood swings are normal during pregnancy and has several psychological and hormonal factors causing them. However, consider seeking help if you feel nervous or down most of the time which could be a sign of something deeper going on and worth curing as early as possible.

Baby blues:

Baby blues are often mixed up with postpartum depression and it is important for expecting mothers to know the difference. Up to 60-80% of new mothers get what’s called the “baby blues” which are short-term periods of low mood caused by all the changes that come with a new baby. These feelings often begin when your newborn is just 2 or 3 days old, but you’re likely to feel better by the time your baby is 1 or 2 weeks old. If those feelings of sadness last longer, or become worse instead of better, you may have what’s called postpartum depression. Get in touch with a mental health professional right away if you feel that you have postpartum depression, or your baby blues don’t get better after 2 weeks.
